Pain Relief with Ultram
Many pain killers get a bad rep due to their potential for abuse. If you've looked for a way to counter mild to moderately severe pain without resorting to narcotics, then Ultram could be the answer to your prayers.
This non narcotic pain killer, whose pharmaceutical name is Tramadol, works in the same manner as a narcotic pain killer does. It binds to certain pain receptors in the brain, and works to block the body from translating the message of pain. In other words, it controls how your body experiences pain.
Ultram is especially suited to those who are on constant pain medication for chronic conditions like back pain, fibromylagia etc.
Dosage
Doctors don't recommend taking more than 300 milligrams of Ultram a day. If you're addicted to drugs or alcohol or have been in the past, you are also not advised to take Ultram. People with seizures, kidney illnesses, and epilepsy are also advised to avoid this pain killer. Further, if you're on anti depressants, or any kind of medication for mental illnesses like schizophrenia, Ultram is not for you.
Ultram can cause dependence if taken over a long period of time. This means that like any form of dependence, you are likely to suffer withdrawal symptoms as soon as you stop the medication. These symptoms may include fatigue, sweating, shaking or even blackouts. To avoid these symptoms, never stop the use of Ultram immediately. Rather, phase it out gradually to reduce your dependency on it.
Other Positive Benefits of Ultram
Ultram is an effective non narcotic analgesic, and not a non steroidal anti inflammatory drug, which means that you don't suffer from the stomach ulcerations, and other side effects of non steroidal medications.
People who have been prescribed Ultram for chronic pain relief have reported that they sleep better, which is not so surprising really, because when your pain vanishes, you tend to sleep better. Another happy effect of Ultram is that it contains mild anti depressants which can lead to positive happy feelings all around! Other persons have reported that it works to suppress appetite, causing a drop in weight. Although none of these reports have been conclusively proven by medical research, there does seem to be more than one benefit of taking Ultram.
Ultram should be taken with a glass of water and can be taken with any kind of food. Don't take it with alcohol, or cold and allergy medications, however. It is not recommended for use by pregnant women and breast feeding mothers. Although abuse of Ultram is rare, it's not unheard of. Don't share your Ultram medication with others.
