How does Generic Clomid work?
Generic Clomid works by stimulating an ovulation, or the release of an egg cell from a woman's ovaries, when the latter is capable of producing a follicle, but is lacking hormonal stimulation. In this sense, Clomid is a stimulant for ovulation, by aiding in the production of hormones, and causing the release of one or more eggs for fertilization from the ovary. The drug is primarily used as a treatment for female infertility.
How to take Generic Clomid.
Generic Clomid is a drug which is usually available in tablet form, and in 50 mg dosage strength. It is necessary that an intake of Clomid is made while carefully following a prescribing doctor's instructions, in order to obtain the intended benefit from the drug. The medication may be ingested with or without a previous intake of food, and if necessary, downed with a tall glass of water. In order to have a successful conception in aid of the medication, proper timing is necessary. The ovulation as a result of intake usually happens within the five and ten day interval following a dose of Clomid. If ever conception is still elusive even after three courses of the treatment, a further intake treatment is no longer recommended.
Side Effects.
Adverse effects as a result of intake of Clomid usually have minimal health risks. But if the patient experiences blurry vision or problems with it, flushing, an enlarged ovary, vomiting, enlargement or tenderness of the breasts, a feeling of light-headedness, headaches, mood swings, and nausea, she is advised to consult with a doctor for medical advice. In the presence of the following conditions, immediately discontinue intake and seek medical help:
- an allergic reaction.
- an increased risk of acquiring ovarian cancer.
- an excessive stimulation of the ovary.
- an inadvertent abortion.
- increased sweating.
Precautions and Interactions.
Patients who have the following conditions should not take on Clomid:
- an allergy with any component of the drug.
- pregnancy; abnormal bleeding in the vagina.
- the presence of ovarian cysts.
- a blockage in the blood vessels.
- liver disorders.
- thyroid and adrenaline gland disorders.
- lesions in the brain.
Women who are planning on conception, are breastfeeding, or are currently taking other medications and dietary supplements should inform their prescribing physician beforehand. There is a possibility that certain medications may interact with Clomid, but at present, no known specific interactions with the drug are established.
Missed Dose.
In case a missed intake of Clomid is made, do not make up for it, at least not until a consultation with the prescribing physician is made.
Overdose.
In case of an overdose, immediately seek for medical help. The indications that an excessive intake of Clomid has been made include abdominal pain, queasiness and vomiting, visual flashes, flushing, and blurry vision.
Storage.
Store Generic Clomid within normal room temperatures, away from excessive heat.
